Pallone, who succeeded James J. Howard in Congress, highlighted issues ranging from federal funding freezes to healthcare policies.
On January 31, 2025, Pallone criticized former President Donald Trump’s decision to freeze federal funding, stating its detrimental effects on residents in New Jersey. He remarked, “Here’s yet another example of how Trump’s unconstitutional federal funding freeze will impact people in New Jersey.”
Later that day, Pallone addressed plans by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., commonly referred to as RFK Jr., regarding mifepristone access. He commented that “RFK’s plan to review mifepristone and block access to it —whether by pulling it from pharmacy shelves or banning it from being mailed— will be an abortion ban, plain and simple.”
In a subsequent tweet on February 1, 2025, Pallone expressed concern over healthcare coverage under Trump’s administration. He warned that “4 million Americans will lose their health care next year alone under Trump’s watch unless he and Republicans get their act together.” He urged for bipartisan cooperation to extend ACA subsidies and maintain healthcare coverage.
