Rep. Frank Pallone, U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 6th district since 1988, shared updates on local environmental health concerns, international relations, and community achievements through a series of tweets on May 18, 2026.
On May 18, Pallone addressed recent public health developments in Keyport: “Yesterday, I joined the Keyport community as the State DEP and health agencies provided an update on the action that they’re taking in light of news of a suspected cancer cluster in the area of the former Aeromarine landfill. We’ll see results from the latest rounds of testing https://t.co/HtLXusmNYP”. The post comes amid heightened concern about potential environmental hazards linked to the former landfill site.
Later that day, Pallone commented on U.S. foreign policy regarding NATO: “Trump is abandoning our NATO allies left and right without consulting Congress—first Germany, and now Poland. If Trump truly cared about preventing the dictator Putin from gaining more influence in Europe and spreading his brand of brutal politics, he’d think twice before”. His remarks reflect ongoing debates over American commitments to European security alliances.
In another tweet posted on May 18, Pallone highlighted his engagement with young constituents: “This weekend, I held my Spring Awards ceremony to honor bright young students in our community for artistic and literary achievement, technological innovation, patriotic service, and much more. If you’re interested in entering in one of my competitions or attending a U.S. https://t.co/utqUBAGYhW”.
Pallone has served continuously in Congress since succeeding James J. Howard in 1988 after previously serving in the New Jersey Senate from 1984 to 1988. Born in Long Branch, New Jersey in 1951, Pallone continues to reside there at age 71. He holds a BA from Middlebury College (1973) and a JD from Rutgers University-Camden (1978).
