Rep. Frank Pallone, who has represented New Jersey’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress since 1988, recently posted a series of messages on social media addressing local celebrations, international events, and ongoing political disputes.

On October 6, 2025, Pallone acknowledged the Jewish holiday of Sukkot with a message to his constituents: “Chag Sukkot Sameach to all those celebrating in New Jersey. May your sukkah be full of peace, love, and gratitude!”

The following day, marking a significant anniversary in global affairs, Pallone reflected on violence in the Middle East. On October 7, 2025 he wrote: “Today marks the second anniversary of the brutal Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel on October 7th, 2023. On this day, over 1,200 innocent people, including 40 Americans, were murdered, and 240 were taken hostage. Horrifyingly, two years later, 48 hostages are still being held by”.

Later that same day—October 7—Pallone commented on domestic political tensions as a government shutdown continued into its seventh day. He stated: “It’s DAY SEVEN of the REPUBLICAN RETREAT.  The government has now been shut down for a WEEK because Republicans refuse to lower the price of your health care. They’re nowhere to be found in Washington.”

Pallone has served continuously in Congress since replacing James J. Howard in 1988 and previously served in the New Jersey Senate from 1984 to 1988. Born in Long Branch in 1951 and currently residing there at age 71, he holds degrees from Middlebury College (BA) and Rutgers University-Camden (JD).
