Rep. Frank Pallone, U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 6th district since 1988, used his Twitter account this week to comment on national policy and local economic concerns.
On April 29, Pallone criticized former President Donald Trump’s record on food safety, stating, “Trump ran on a promise to ‘Make America Healthy Again’ by getting dangerous chemicals out of our food, but has done exactly the opposite.”
Later that day, Pallone announced regulatory news affecting electricity rates in New Jersey. He wrote, “NEWS: @FERC has extended the PJM price cap I urged them to approve—preventing sharp electricity rate hikes for NJ households! At a moment where utility customers in the Garden State have been burdened by high electricity bills, I’m very glad to see this price cap approved and” (April 29).
On April 30, Pallone addressed economic conditions in New Jersey under Trump-era policies. He stated, “In case you needed more proof Trump’s economy isn’t working for our state: THOUSANDS more New Jerseyans went bankrupt last year.”
Pallone has represented New Jersey’s 6th District in Congress since replacing James J. Howard in 1988 and previously served in the New Jersey Senate from 1984 to 1988. Born in Long Branch in 1951 and currently residing there at age 71, he holds degrees from Middlebury College and Rutgers University-Camden.
