Rep. Frank Pallone, who has represented New Jersey’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress since 1988, posted several updates on October 11, 2025, addressing ongoing political developments and local community events.
In a statement referencing the ongoing government shutdown, Pallone wrote on X (formerly Twitter) at 16:51 UTC: “It’s DAY 11 of the REPUBLICAN RETREAT. Every day that the government remains closed, remember: it’s because Republicans don’t want to negotiate to lower your health care costs. They own this shutdown.”
Later that day at 17:28 UTC, Pallone highlighted his involvement with local youth and military service by posting: “Hosted my 15th annual U.S. service academy day at Middlesex College in Edison. Thanks to the representatives from the academies who presented, including Midshipman Varad Donwad from Edison, who I appointed to the U.S. Naval Academy.”
At 18:34 UTC, Pallone shared an update about attending a cultural event in his district: “Visited the “From Folk to Form” exhibit at the Hungarian American Foundation’s Oktoberfest celebration. This artwork, by Suzanne Ócsai, is made with steel wire and incorporates traditional Hungarian themes.”
Pallone has been a member of Congress since replacing James J. Howard in 1988 and previously served in the New Jersey Senate from 1984 to 1988. Born in Long Branch, New Jersey in 1951 and currently residing there, he graduated from Middlebury College with a BA before earning a JD from Rutgers University-Camden.
