Rep. Frank Pallone, a longtime U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 6th district and resident of Long Branch, voiced strong criticism on social media over recent Republican health care proposals and the potential closure of Monmouth Medical Center in his hometown.
On November 13, 2025, Pallone posted on X: “Let’s cut through the noise: this is a DEAL WITH THE DEVIL. Republicans are making millions of Americans UNINSURED, and they don’t seem to care.”
Later that day, he reiterated his opposition to proposed cuts in health coverage with another post: “I voted NO to cutting your health care. I voted NO to sending your neighbors into bankruptcy because they can’t pay for their health insurance. I voted NO to making your relatives sicker. Republicans simply could not care less.
I promise you, I’m going to fight every day in” (posted November 13, 2025).
In a third post on November 13, 2025, Pallone addressed local concerns regarding hospital services in Long Branch: “Don’t let RWJBarnabas get away with stripping Long Branch of our hospital WITHOUT OUR SAY!
You’re invited to join me at the public hearing on the closure of Monmouth Medical Center hospital in Long Branch today and SPEAK OUT for care that serves our community WHERE WE ARE.”
Frank Pallone has served New Jersey’s 6th District in Congress since 1988 after succeeding James J. Howard. Before his tenure in Congress, he was a member of the New Jersey Senate from 1984 to 1988. Born and raised in Long Branch in 1951, Pallone continues to reside there today. He holds degrees from Middlebury College and Rutgers University-Camden.
The closure of Monmouth Medical Center has sparked concern among local residents about access to healthcare services—a matter highlighted by Pallone’s invitation for public engagement at hearings addressing the issue.
