Rep. Frank Pallone, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 6th district, has recently expressed his concerns and views on various national issues through a series of tweets. Pallone, who has been in office since 1988 after succeeding James J. Howard, continues to be an active voice in political discourse.
On February 1, 2025, Pallone criticized the investigations into public news organizations such as NPR, PBS, and NJ Spotlight by Trump’s FCC Chairman. He described these actions as “deeply concerning” and labeled them as “baseless accusations” aimed at undermining local news and suppressing the press. According to Pallone, “Carr is completely abusing his power.”
Later that day, he expressed satisfaction over the return of six American hostages to the United States. Among them was David Estrella, whose family resides in Woodbridge. Pallone noted that his office had engaged with Estrella’s family and advocated for his release: “Great to see six American hostages…coming home back to the U.S.”
In another tweet dated February 2, 2025, Pallone criticized former President Trump’s decision to dismantle foreign aid programs. He argued that this move is not beneficial for the United States’ interests as it would hinder efforts to eradicate diseases that could potentially spread domestically and damage crucial international relationships vital for national security: “Trump’s decision…is not in our best interest.”
