Rep. Frank Pallone from New Jersey’s 6th district shared a series of tweets on April 18, 2025, reflecting on significant issues and sentiments. Known for his long-standing service in U.S. Congress since 1988, Pallone expressed thoughts on themes of renewal, healthcare, and government policies.

In his first post tweeted at 12:15 PM, Pallone reflected on the symbolic meaning of Good Friday, saying, “Good Friday reminds us that even in the darkest moments, there’s a path to renewal. A quiet day for reflection, sacrifice, and the hope that comes next.”

In a tweet posted at 12:53 PM Pallone highlighted opposition to proposed Medicaid cuts, pointing out, “Only one of New Jersey’s three Republicans signed a letter opposing Medicaid cuts. But when the Energy & Commerce Committee takes up Trump’s plan to gut Medicaid, we’ll see what they really stand for. Because here’s the truth: these cuts are deep, devastating, and designed to pay.” His comments underscore the ongoing debate over healthcare funding under former President Trump’s administration.

Pallone also expressed concerns about potential changes to federal education programs. At 3:40 PM on the same day, he wrote, “Trump’s team is quietly pushing to eliminate Head Start. That’s 790,000 kids losing meals, health care, and early learning. Nearly half in rural Republican districts. This isn’t about saving money. It’s about dismantling government, no matter how many kids it leaves behind.” These comments convey his apprehension over the impact of government program cuts on vulnerable populations.

Frank Pallone, 71, has served in Congress since succeeding James J. Howard in 1988. Born in Long Branch, New Jersey, Pallone earned degrees from Middlebury College and Rutgers University-Camden before his extensive political career, including his prior role in the New Jersey Senate.
