Rep. Frank Pallone, who has represented New Jersey’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress since 1988, posted a series of statements on social media this week addressing transparency, federal funding for beach replenishment, and public access to congressional proceedings.

On September 3, Pallone posted a brief message: “Release the files.” (September 3, 2025). Later that day, he commented on proposed changes to federal funding affecting New Jersey’s coastline: “New Jersey House Republicans are proposing massive cuts to federal beach replenishment funding. As climate change worsens the storms that hit our beaches, shifting this financial burden onto our Shore municipalities will crush them. I was on the House floor today to urge” (September 3, 2025).

The following day, Pallone highlighted expanded access to government proceedings: “C-SPAN is an unfiltered view of our democracy. Now it’s coming to @Hulu + @YouTube this fall, so more people (not just cable subscribers) can see what’s really happening in Congress, in real time!” (September 4, 2025).

Pallone has served as a member of Congress since succeeding James J. Howard in 1988 and previously served in the New Jersey Senate from 1984 to 1988. Born in Long Branch in 1951 and currently residing there at age 71, he holds degrees from Middlebury College and Rutgers University-Camden.
