Later that day, Pallone criticized potential restrictions on research funding by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He referred to their proposal as an “anti-energy efficiency laundry machine bill” which would unnecessarily increase energy costs for Americans. “I called out this senseless waste of time tonight,” he declared in his critique of the bill.
