Rep. Frank Pallone, U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 6th district since 1988, posted a series of messages on May 3, 2026, addressing heritage celebrations, FEMA staffing issues, and Teacher Appreciation Week.
In his first post at 13:03 UTC, Pallone marked Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander Heritage Month by stating, “Happy AANHPI Heritage Month, New Jersey! I’m proud to represent one of our state’s most vibrant and engaged Asian American communities in Congress.”
Later that afternoon at 15:02 UTC, he commented on recent developments at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), writing, “I’m glad to see the FEMA workers fired by Kristi Noem are back on the job. I pushed for Kristi Noem‘s firing in part because of the chaos she created at FEMA—but that chaos will be hard to undo.”
By evening at 20:19 UTC, Pallone shifted focus to educators ahead of Teacher Appreciation Week with a message to constituents: “Teacher Appreciation Week kicks off tomorrow, New Jersey! I am so grateful for all the teachers in the Sixth District and their tireless work to ensure our children can have the brightest of futures.
If you know a teacher, show them your appreciation this upcoming week!”
Pallone has served in Congress since replacing James J. Howard in 1988 and previously held office in the New Jersey Senate from 1984 to 1988. Born in Long Branch in 1951 and currently residing there at age 71, he holds degrees from Middlebury College (BA) and Rutgers University-Camden (JD).
