On May 22, 2026, Pallone wrote: “I, too, was just talking with my son, whom I’ve known a long time.”
Later the same day, he announced new federal support for local environmental initiatives: “Great news! NJ is getting $258,000 in federal funding to monitor water quality at our beaches ahead of Memorial Day Weekend! Pallone has represented New Jersey’s 6th District in Congress since replacing James J. Howard in 1988. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the New Jersey Senate from 1984 to 1988. Born in Long Branch in 1951 and currently residing there at age 71, Pallone holds degrees from Middlebury College (BA) and Rutgers University-Camden (JD).
