Rep. Frank Pallone, a longtime U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 6th district, posted a series of statements on February 9, 2026, addressing his concerns over the use of Native American mascots in schools and actions by the Trump Administration.

In one post, Pallone directed readers to further information about his correspondence with the Federal Communications Commission chairman: “Read more about my letter to the FCC chairman here https://t.co/xcLP8h4HBW” (February 9, 2026).

Later that day, he criticized federal policy regarding school mascots: “Our children should be able to learn and grow in spaces that value mutual respect and human dignity, but the Trump Administration is twisting civil rights law to keep disrespectful and degrading Native American mascots in schools. https://t.co/9a5dy61CXf” (February 9, 2026).

Pallone followed up by announcing legislative action: “That’s why I’m introducing a resolution endorsed by @NCAI1944 calling for an end to these racist symbols in the face of Trump’s efforts to preserve them.  Read more: https://t.co/ggrrKC7BUP https://t.co/1QGg1vroLi” (February 9, 2026).

Frank Pallone has represented New Jersey’s 6th District in Congress since 1988 after serving four years in the New Jersey Senate. He was born in Long Branch, New Jersey in 1951 and continues to reside there. Pallone holds degrees from Middlebury College and Rutgers University-Camden.
