Rep. Frank Pallone, a longtime U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 6th district, posted a series of statements on February 9, 2026, addressing his concerns over the use of Native American mascots in schools and actions by the Trump Administration.

Later that day, he criticized federal policy regarding school mascots: “Our children should be able to learn and grow in spaces that value mutual respect and human dignity, but the Trump Administration is twisting civil rights law to keep disrespectful and degrading Native American mascots in schools. https://t.co/9a5dy61CXf” (February 9, 2026).

Frank Pallone has represented New Jersey’s 6th District in Congress since 1988 after serving four years in the New Jersey Senate. He was born in Long Branch, New Jersey in 1951 and continues to reside there. Pallone holds degrees from Middlebury College and Rutgers University-Camden.
