Rep. Frank Pallone, U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 6th district since 1988, recently took to social media to criticize corporate tax policy, surveillance legislation, and the conduct of federal agencies under recent leadership.
On April 17, 2026, Pallone expressed opposition to refunds for corporations from tariffs enacted during the Trump administration. He stated: “Corporations and CEOs—who aren’t lowering your prices anytime soon, by the way—don’t deserve the refunds from Trump’s illegal tariffs. You—the consumer—do. You’ve been paying the price this entire time. This is outrageous. Trump puts profits over people and corporations over”.
In another post on April 18, 2026, Pallone criticized a late-night legislative session held by House Republicans: “Yesterday, @HouseGOP held a vote at TWO IN THE MORNING to pass a bad bill that extends warrantless surveillance on foreign intelligence—but impacts Americans’ privacy. Because they can barely function, they only managed to get it extended by two weeks. We deserve better than https://t.co/K566WrKs3T”.
Later that day, Pallone commented on agency leadership following violent incidents in Minneapolis: “On Todd Lyons’ watch, two American citizens were shot dead in the streets of Minneapolis—and he refused to apologize. He’s presided over an agency that detains our neighbors in horrible conditions here in the Garden State. Good riddance! All these recent departures show Trump’s”.
Pallone has represented New Jersey’s 6th District since replacing James J. Howard in Congress in 1988 and previously served in the New Jersey Senate from 1984 to 1988. Born in Long Branch in 1951 and currently residing there at age 71, he holds degrees from Middlebury College (BA) and Rutgers University-Camden (JD).
