Rep. Frank Pallone, who has represented New Jersey’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress since 1988, recently posted a series of tweets criticizing recent policy decisions affecting fuel and health care costs for Americans.
On December 3, 2025, Pallone wrote, “The Trump Admin has decided to raise fuel costs on Americans, imperil our health, and pollute our air. This rollback will drive up gas costs for consumers who are already struggling to make ends meet, but once again, @POTUS and his Republican enablers are more concerned with https://t.co/nv5WB1TbFU”.
The following day, December 4, he highlighted the case of a constituent: “Tom Moomjy, a constituent of mine, is in Washington today to tell his story. Like so many Americans, he’s facing a set of impossible choices: his health insurance premium is about to go up by $700 per month because House Republicans are refusing to extend Affordable Care Act tax https://t.co/zEQfzP5b8V”. In a subsequent tweet on the same day he added, “It’s shameful that Republicans’ only policy platform seems to be denying the American people a workable cost of living—including affordable health care. People like Tom are only going to suffer as a result.”
Pallone’s remarks come amid ongoing debates over energy policy rollbacks and the future of Affordable Care Act tax credits. He has served in Congress since succeeding James J. Howard in 1988 and previously served in the New Jersey Senate from 1984 to 1988. Born in Long Branch in 1951 and currently residing there at age 71, Pallone holds degrees from Middlebury College (BA) and Rutgers University-Camden (JD).
