Rep. Frank Pallone, U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 6th district since 1988, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing healthcare, college athlete rights, and online safety.
On December 1, 2025, Pallone criticized RWJ Barnabas for its plans regarding Monmouth Medical Center: “RWJ Barnabas wants to move Monmouth Medical Center hospital out of Long Branch so it can squeeze more profit out of wealthier residents with private insurance plans—and abandon people who rely on Medicaid or who have no insurance. It’s nothing more than a betrayal of the people”.
Later that evening, he commented on proposed changes affecting college athletes: “College athletes fought hard for rights and protections—including names, images, likenesses, and the right to share revenue. Now Republicans want to reverse that progress and take away those rights.”
On December 2, 2025, Pallone referenced his legislative work during an Energy and Commerce Committee hearing: “.@EnergyCommerce is holding a hearing on online safety today, including my bill to prevent data brokers from selling minors’ data and to allow parents and teens to request the deletion of any data already in the hands of these shadowy brokers. We should not allow nameless data”.
Pallone has represented New Jersey’s 6th District in Congress since replacing James J. Howard in 1988 and previously served in the New Jersey Senate from 1984 to 1988. Born in Long Branch in 1951 and currently residing there, Pallone holds degrees from Middlebury College (BA) and Rutgers University-Camden (JD).
