Rep. Frank Pallone, a longtime U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 6th district, has voiced criticism of Republican policies in a series of posts on X in mid-October 2025. Pallone, who has served in Congress since 1988 after succeeding James J. Howard, addressed concerns about federal funding for mass transit and proposed healthcare cuts.
On October 15, 2025, Pallone commented on what he described as the diversion of funds from Democratic-led states, stating, “The wannabe king is at it again stealing money from Blue States. Do any Republicans in NY or NJ have anything to say about this theft? This is the most important mass transit project in our state, and I won’t rest until funding is restored.”
The following day, Pallone continued his criticism of Republican leadership, posting on October 16, 2025, “It’s DAY 16 of the REPUBLICAN RETREAT. Serving the American people should be something we can all agree on—but Republicans insist on jamming their cruel cuts to your health care through. We’re not having it.” Later that day, he added, “House Democrats want to save your health care. Where are Republicans?”
Pallone’s comments come amid ongoing debates in Congress over funding for major infrastructure projects and proposed reductions to healthcare spending. As a representative of New Jersey’s 6th district since 1988 and a former New Jersey state senator from 1984 to 1988, Pallone has been a vocal advocate for both transit investment and healthcare access. Born in Long Branch, New Jersey in 1951, Pallone holds degrees from Middlebury College and Rutgers University-Camden.
