Rep. Frank Pallone, U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 6th district since 1988, has criticized actions taken by the Trump administration regarding FEMA and food assistance programs in a series of posts on his official social media account.
On November 4, 2025, Pallone alleged that South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem and her associates fabricated claims about FEMA’s conduct under the previous administration. He wrote, “Noem and her lackies couldn’t find any proof that FEMA under the previous administration was biased in its life-saving work so they had to cook up a false report saying so. Facts don’t care about your feelings—until the facts don’t line up with Trump’s dogma.”
Later that day, Pallone addressed food assistance issues affecting his constituents: “24,000 households in my district rely on SNAP to put food on the table. The Trump Administration CHOSE to illegally withhold that food assistance from you. It took him a COURT RULING for him to acknowledge he had to pay it out—and he’s only doing it partially.” He further questioned the use of political leverage involving court-ordered benefits: “How cruel do you have to be to go against a court order and use food for hungry families as political leverage? There’s money in the bank to pay these benefits NOW. Use it.”
Pallone has served as New Jersey’s 6th District representative since replacing James J. Howard in 1988. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he was a member of the New Jersey Senate from 1984 to 1988. Born in Long Branch, New Jersey in 1951, Pallone is an alumnus of Middlebury College and Rutgers University-Camden.
