Rep. Frank Pallone, a U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 6th district since 1988, used his social media platform to criticize former President Donald Trump’s policies in a series of posts on April 7 and 8, 2026.

On April 7, Pallone addressed the impact of trade policy on American workers, stating, “100,000 manufacturing jobs lost and counting, all because of Trump’s nonsensical trade war. Americans want better opportunities for their families and lower prices. Instead, Trump’s tariffs are putting opportunities out of reach and taking food off families’ tables.”

Later that day, he commented on abortion rights and federal actions affecting New Jersey: “Trump says he wants to leave abortion up to the states, but now his Administration is dusting off obscure provisions to restrict reproductive rights in New Jersey. Make no mistake: when Republicans said they cared about states’ rights they only meant the red ones.”

In a post dated April 8 regarding recent foreign policy developments, Pallone wrote: “With this ceasefire, Trump will claim ‘victory’—but it’s not. It also doesn’t absolve Trump of the disgusting rhetoric he used earlier. This is a temporary fix to a crisis of his making and a direct response to the overwhelming public backlash to his illegal war.”

Frank Pallone has been active in public service for decades; prior to serving in Congress since 1988, he was a member of the New Jersey Senate from 1984 to 1988. Born in Long Branch in 1951 and currently residing there at age 71, Pallone holds degrees from Middlebury College (BA) and Rutgers University-Camden (JD).
