Rep. Frank Pallone, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 6th district, has recently voiced his concerns on social media regarding several political decisions and their implications for American citizens. Pallone, who has been in office since 1988 after replacing James J. Howard, used his platform to criticize actions taken by the Trump administration and Republican members of Congress.
On March 15, 2025, Pallone addressed issues surrounding conflicts of interest in Trump’s appointments to health positions. He highlighted Dr. Oz’s appointment as head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services due to his financial gains from Medicare Advantage plans. “The conflicts of interests with Trump’s appointments to key health positions continue unabated. The following day, March 16, 2025, Pallone expressed concern over potential healthcare and nutritional setbacks for Americans due to Republican policies. He criticized efforts to reduce federal funding to states that have expanded Medicaid, predicting that it would result in millions losing healthcare coverage and children going hungry due to cuts in the School Meals Program. “Republicans don’t care if Americans lose their health care or go hungry. Reducing federal dollars to states that have expanded Medicaid will mean at least 20 million Americans will lose health care. But, millions of kids will also go hungry by eliminating the School Meals Program…”
Later on March 16, Pallone commented on President Trump’s signing of a stopgap spending bill which he claims grants excessive power over tariffs to the President—a move he believes could lead to economic recession while House Republicans remain indifferent as long as their agenda is served.“Trump’s signing of the stopgap spending bill completes the process of the GOP Congress handing over its spending power to the President.
