Rep. Frank Pallone, who represents New Jersey’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, has posted a series of statements on social media addressing the ongoing government shutdown, actions by former President Donald Trump, and recent political controversies.

On October 7, 2025, Pallone highlighted the impact of the government shutdown on military personnel, stating, “Meanwhile all the service members behind him are working without pay because of the Republican shutdown.”

Later that day, Pallone accused former President Trump of misusing federal resources, writing, “Trump is hijacking government websites to feed you lies about HIS SHUTDOWN. There’s no way to spin this: it’s illegal.”

On October 8, 2025, Pallone commented on Trump’s public statements regarding Illinois officials: “It’s ironic that Trump, who’s a convicted felon, is calling for the governor of Illinois and mayor of Chicago to be JAILED for doing their jobs. Let that sink in.”

Pallone has served in Congress since 1988 after previously serving in the New Jersey Senate. He was born in Long Branch, New Jersey, in 1951 and continues to reside there. Pallone holds degrees from Middlebury College and Rutgers University-Camden.
