Rep. Frank Pallone, a longtime U.S. Congressman representing New Jersey’s 6th district, voiced concerns on April 8, 2026, regarding ongoing war policies, rising gas prices, and the independence of the Justice Department under former President Donald Trump.

In a post made on April 8, 2026, Pallone stated: “The American people are sick and tired of this war that makes us less safe. Republicans must join Democrats in returning to Washington and reining in Trump with the War Powers Act. Congressional Republicans gave him a blank check to put our service members in harm’s way—and now”.

Later that day, Pallone addressed economic impacts stemming from recent conflicts: “New Jerseyans are now paying over four dollars a gallon for gas—the highest it’s been in years. The blame is squarely on Trump and his war. Even though there’s now a ceasefire, the oil supply chain has unfortunately been disrupted—and may be for a long time.”

He also commented on developments within the Justice Department: “The Justice Department’s role is to administer the law fairly and independently—not do the President’s bidding. I’m disappointed but unsurprised that Trump’s interim replacement for Pam Bondi is just as willing as she was to undermine the rule of law.”

Frank Pallone has served as representative for New Jersey’s 6th District since 1988 after previously holding office in the New Jersey Senate from 1984 to 1988. Born in Long Branch, New Jersey in 1951, he continues to reside there at age 71. He holds degrees from Middlebury College (BA) and Rutgers University-Camden (JD).
