On October 17, 2025, Pallone invited followers to engage with his latest update by posting: “Join me now for my weekly update! https://t.co/n5AlOCacnL”.
The following day, October 18, he commented on the ongoing government shutdown and criticized former President Donald Trump’s role in the situation: “It’s DAY 18 of the REPUBLICAN RETREAT.
Trump is trying to turn our cherished democracy into an autocracy, and he’s using his shutdown as one of his tools.

Pallone has served in Congress since succeeding James J. Howard in 1988 and previously held office in the New Jersey Senate from 1984 to 1988. Born in Long Branch, New Jersey in 1951, Pallone is currently 71 years old and continues to reside there. He graduated from Middlebury College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1973 and earned a Juris Doctor from Rutgers University-Camden in 1978.
