Rep. Frank Pallone, who has represented New Jersey’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress since 1988, posted a series of critical tweets regarding recent economic and policy developments involving the Trump administration.

On September 4, 2025, Pallone wrote, “Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Messing with a country’s central bank is a classic authoritarian move, and it brings economic turmoil every time.”

The following day, on September 5, he commented on the state of the economy under former President Donald Trump: “Alternative headline: Trump’s economy hits pandemic-level flop.”

Later that same day, Pallone criticized an airline-related policy decision by the Trump administration: “This benefits *nobody* except airline executives. This is the Trump administration once again showing us that they love making things more expensive for you, unless you’re a billionaire.”

Pallone has served in Congress since succeeding James J. Howard in 1988 and previously held office in the New Jersey Senate from 1984 to 1988. Born in Long Branch, New Jersey in 1951, Pallone holds degrees from Middlebury College and Rutgers University-Camden.
