Rep. Frank Pallone, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 6th district, expressed his concerns over recent actions by former President Donald Trump through a series of tweets on March 21, 2025. Pallone, who has been a member of Congress since 1988 and previously served in the New Jersey Senate, addressed issues ranging from segregation to political appointments.

In a tweet posted at 14:26 UTC on March 21, Rep. Pallone criticized the Trump administration for ending “the federal ban on segregated facilities in government contracts,” which he claimed allows for “whites only” spaces funded by the government. He described this action as dragging America back to the Jim Crow era and accused Trump of putting “this country into a racist time machine.” “Trump is dragging America back to the Jim Crow era.”

Later that day at 15:06 UTC, Pallone announced his collaboration with Rep. Jamie Raskin to demand that Trump reinstate Democratic Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Commissioners whom they claim were unconstitutionally fired. They argued that these dismissals undermine the FTC’s essential role in consumer protection.“.@RepRaskin and I are demanding Trump reinstate the Democratic FTC Commissioners.”

In another tweet posted at 16:12 UTC on March 21, Pallone praised Rutgers University for its diversity among students and faculty members while criticizing Trump’s stance on such diversity efforts as white supremacist.“Great universities like @RutgersU are strong because of their diversity.”
