Pallone, who succeeded James J. Howard in Congress and previously served in the New Jersey Senate, is known for his focus on environmental issues.
On January 21, 2025, Rep. Pallone tweeted about an executive order signed by Trump questioning climate change amid ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles: “Trump signed an executive order yesterday directly questioning the existence of climate change. While the horrific wildfires in LA are still burning, Trump is refusing to acknowledge reality and Americans are paying the price.”
Later that day, Pallone addressed another executive order issued by Trump regarding federal agencies and infrastructure investments: “Trump issued an illegal Executive Order directing federal agencies to bypass the law and withhold critical infrastructure and climate investments. He has a long history of stiffing contractors, but the American government MUST uphold its commitments.”
On January 22, 2025, Pallone criticized the early actions of Trump’s administration concerning environmental policies: “It’s week one and the Trump Administration is already unleashing corporate polluters to poison our air, water, and land.”
