On May 3, 2026, Pallone cited figures from House Budget Committee Democrats regarding the impact of former President Donald Trump’s economic policies on New Jersey families: “According to @HouseBudgetDems, Trump, NJ families have suffered a $3000 INCREASE in basic living expenses—including over $650 in housing expense increases. New Jerseyans can’t afford these price hikes as Trump’s economy only squeezes them harder.”
The following day, May 4, he highlighted the cultural significance of diners in New Jersey and called for their preservation: “It just wouldn’t be Jersey without our diners. They’re a unique tradition born out of the hard work and entrepreneurship that are keystones of the American dream—and are worth supporting and preserving. I’m a frequent client at Jersey diners, and I hope you’ll join me in”.
Later that day, Pallone criticized former President Trump’s approach to international alliances: “Trump’s continued efforts to destroy the NATO alliance will only further weaken the United States. Germany, key to our defense against Russian aggression, is being punished because its Chancellor dared to speak the truth about Trump’s disastrous war in Iran. Trump must end the”.
Pallone has been an active figure in Congress since replacing James J. Howard in 1988 after previously serving in the New Jersey Senate from 1984 to 1988. Born in Long Branch, New Jersey in 1951 and currently residing there at age 71, Pallone holds degrees from Middlebury College and Rutgers University-Camden.
