On January 23, 2025, Rep. Pallone expressed concern over the potential use of spectrum airwaves auction proceeds. He stated that for decades these auctions have funded public programs but criticized former President Trump and Republicans for allegedly planning to divert these funds to “tax breaks for billionaires and large corporations.” “For decades auctioning spectrum airwaves used for wireless technology like radio stations, smartphones, & GPS has raised billions of dollars to fund public programs.”
Later that day, he announced significant federal funding support for RWJ Barnabas Health in New Jersey. The $5.5 million allocation is intended to reimburse expenses incurred during the COVID-19 pandemic, which played a crucial role in protecting public health in the state. “RWJ Barnabas Health will receive $5.5 million in federal funding to reimburse expenses incurred during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Additionally, Rep. Pallone celebrated a local development project involving Middlesex College in New Jersey on January 23rd as well.
