Rep. Frank Pallone, a longstanding representative of New Jersey’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress, voiced his concerns and opinions on recent developments affecting New Jersey and beyond through a series of tweets. Pallone, who has served in Congress since 1988, succeeding James J. Howard, took to social media to highlight issues ranging from healthcare negotiations to staffing decisions within a federal department.

On April 1, 2025, Pallone expressed relief regarding a recent in-network care agreement between Horizon and Hackensack Meridian on Twitter. He stated: “I’m relieved Horizon and Hackensack Meridian reached a deal to keep care in-network for hundreds of thousands of New Jerseyans. But let’s be honest—this should’ve never gone down to the wire. I pushed hard to keep both sides at the table because patients always come first.”

Later that day, Pallone criticized Secretary Kennedy’s proposed personnel reduction at the Department of Health and Human Services amid ongoing health crises in another tweet. He wrote: “Secretary Kennedy is trying to layoff 25 percent of staff at the Department of Health and Human Services in the middle of measles and bird flu outbreaks. Make it make sense. https://t.co/vEo1QlHKHg” The post highlights Pallone’s concern over the timing and implications of such layoffs.

Additionally, Pallone posted a succinct definition of a “Freudian slip,” linking it to potential unconscious revelations. His tweet on the matter read: “Freudian slip /ˌfroidēən ˈslip/ noun a seemingly unintentional error in speech that reveals unconscious thoughts or feelings. https://t.co/aahKME0E5h” on April 1, 2025.
