Patent 9

There was one patent granted in New Brunswick in the week ending June 27, according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

This is one more than the week before. The patent was for a neural network-based object detection in visual input.

The patent was filed on August 10, 2020

The number of approved patents in the U.S. grew steadily from roughly 225,000 in 2009 to more than 285,000 in 2019. The number of patents approved suffered a slight downturn in 2020.

Gene Quinn with IPWatchdog said the system underneath patents have become unwieldy, specifically for medical innovations.
