If you’re looking for work, next month’s Spring Career and Internship Fair at Rutgers University–New Brunswick is open to all students, alumni, and the public at large. The event, organized by the Office of Career Exploration and Success (CES), will take place on Friday, April 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Jersey Mike's Arena in Piscataway.
According to Kait Weiss, associate director of strategic outreach at CES, the fair is inclusive: "We have developed many opportunities for all candidates, regardless of career interests, degree levels, or citizenship." The fair is the only recruiting event open to the general public and welcomes attendees from all academic disciplines and locations within Rutgers University.
More than 150 employers, including prominent names like JPMorgan Chase & Co., Comcast NBCUniversal, and the Peace Corps, will be present at the Livingston campus to discuss full-time, part-time, and internship opportunities in various fields. Lisa Goddard, senior assistant director of career and internship fairs for CES, highlighted that this fair is "an ideal opportunity for recruiters and candidates to connect through valuable networking opportunities."
The event will be segmented by technical roles, nontechnical jobs, and positions that combine both aspects. Registration is currently open for Rutgers students and alumni, with pre-registration preferred but not required. Walk-ins are also welcome for alumni of Rutgers–Camden and Rutgers–Newark, as well as members of the general public.
In addition to networking opportunities, candidates are encouraged to prepare for the fair with career prep tools and resources available for Rutgers–New Brunswick students. By utilizing these resources and attending specialized events, attendees can earn a #MegaFastPass for enhanced opportunities.
Furthermore, the Rutgers community can benefit from a 30% discount on select career attire, shoes, and accessories through the university’s Rutgers JCPenney Suit-Up partnership. To avail of this discount, individuals can text RUCAREERS to 67292 until May 5.
As Lisa Goddard mentioned, this Spring Career and Internship Fair marks the final in-person career fair of the academic year, making it an essential event for those seeking employment opportunities.
