As the summer months swiftly pass, Rutgers University prepares for the annual influx of students returning to campus. Move-in days mark a significant event as students transition into on-campus housing at Rutgers.
Salvador B. Mena, senior vice chancellor for the student experience, expressed anticipation for the upcoming semester: "We’re eagerly looking forward to our new and returning Scarlet Knights rejoining our campus community this fall semester. Our students bring such vibrancy and energy to our campus, and we are committed to providing them with a meaningful college experience."
Student Affairs at Rutgers University-New Brunswick has provided a comprehensive list of items that students should consider bringing to their new residence. Students are advised to coordinate with roommates regarding shared items such as rugs or televisions to avoid duplication.

Students living in apartments may also bring an air fryer, but it is not permitted in traditional residence halls.
Items prohibited on campus include pets, candles or incense, refrigerators, toasters, hot plates, air conditioners, weapons of any kind, fireworks, grills with charcoal or lighter fluid, halogen or oil lamps, heaters, hoverboards, drones.
