Nursing faculty, staff, and students participated in the National Go Red Day campaign promoted by the American Heart Association and the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI). This annual campaign raises awareness about heart disease, which is the number one cause of death in the United States in both men and women.

As part of the Go Red campaign, information is provided about ways to prevent heart disease and identify its warning signs. During Cardiovascular week, Nursing Program Director Kara Kaldwai encouraged her students to educate family and friends on the prevention of cardiovascular disease.
