Rep. Frank Pallone, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey's 6th district, recently took to social media to address issues related to healthcare funding and public transportation disruptions. His posts highlight his ongoing commitment to addressing critical community concerns.
On December 2, 2024, Rep. Pallone announced significant financial support for local hospitals in response to the challenges faced during the COVID-19 pandemic. He stated, "During the worst of COVID-19, our hospitals went above and beyond—hiring extra nurses, respiratory therapists & medical staff to care for us. I’m announcing over $13M for Saint Peter’s & Hackensack Meridian to help cover those costs & keep them strong."
In a subsequent post on December 3, 2024, he addressed issues with public transportation services affecting commuters along the Northeast corridor. He expressed concern over service cancellations during peak hours by stating, "Completely unacceptable to cancel trains from Penn Station and all along the Northeast corridor during rush hour. Working people and commuters need reliable public transportation to get home. This needs to be addressed ASAP!"
Later that day, Rep. Pallone continued his critique of recent service failures by Amtrak and NJ Transit that left many commuters stranded. He demanded accountability and immediate action in another post: "Thousands of commuters were stranded Monday due to @Amtrak & NJ Transit’s latest service failure. This is unacceptable. Refunds must be issued immediately—people shouldn’t have to pay for unreliable service. Even with recent repairs, overhead wires are still causing chaos."
