Rep. Frank Pallone, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 6th district since 1988, recently shared his critical views on former President Donald Trump's support for certain policies through a series of tweets. These tweets reflect Pallone's opposition to proposed budget plans and cuts affecting various sectors.
On February 20, 2025, Pallone criticized Trump's endorsement of House Republicans' budget plan. He stated, "Oh look, Trump just threw his weight behind House Republicans' radical budget plan because nothing says 'America First' like gutting health care for seniors and people with disabilities to bankroll tax breaks for billionaires. Really top-notch priorities."
Later that day, Pallone expressed disapproval of Trump's perceived prioritization of tax cuts for billionaires over supporting individuals affected by significant health issues. He tweeted at 17:33 UTC, "Donald Trump will do whatever it takes to hand billionaires another tax cut. But a 9/11 responder dying of cancer? According to him and Musk, they're on their own. It's despicable."
In another tweet posted at 19:57 UTC on the same day, Pallone addressed Trump's intentions regarding educational funding. He wrote, "Trump wants to shut down the Department of Education—ripping away $1 billion from NJ schools and gutting Pell Grants for 180,000 students. That means teacher layoffs, bigger class sizes, and fewer resources for students with disabilities. How does this make America competitive?"
