He commented that "If you defraud investors, lie about your product, or launder millions in dirty money...you’re in luck. Under Trump, that’s not a crime." Later that day, Pallone lauded Harvard University's resilience against federal pressure, writing that "Harvard just showed the country how to play defense. He encouraged other educational institutions to consider Harvard as an example of defending academic freedom despite financial consequences.
