Rep. Frank Pallone, representing New Jersey’s 6th district in the U.S. Congress since 1988, utilizes social media to convey his concerns over various policy decisions impacting his constituents and the nation. With a background in law and politics dating back to his time in the New Jersey Senate, Pallone’s recent tweets underscore his critique of the current administration’s policies on health and energy.

On April 18, Pallone expressed his disapproval of changes to the FDA. In a tweet, he stated "Patients are waiting for treatments, and the FDA is missing in action all because Trump and RFK Jr. thought gutting the agency was a good idea. Deregulation isn’t making us healthier. It’s making it harder to cure disease."

Furthering his critique of federal policies, Pallone tweeted on April 19 about the staffing issues facing the LIHEAP program, writing "Trump just laid off the entire LIHEAP staff – jeopardizing a program that helps thousands in NJ afford heat and A/C. Without staff to get the funding to those who need it people will die."

Later on April 19, Pallone also addressed an environmental concern, marking the anniversary of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. He expressed his opposition to plans for increased offshore drilling by stating, "This weekend marks the 15th anniversary of the worst offshore oil drilling spill in US history. 11 workers lost their lives on the Deepwater Horizon oil rig. Trump wants to ignore one of the biggest environmental disasters in world history & expand drilling along our coasts."

Frank Pallone has held his congressional role since taking over from James J. Howard in 1988. He was born and currently lives in Long Branch, New Jersey. Holding a BA from Middlebury College and a JD from Rutgers University-Camden, Pallone has been actively involved in legislative matters for decades.
