Frank Pallone, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey's 6th district since 1988, expressed concerns on Earth Day through a series of tweets critically addressing environmental policy changes. Known for his environmental advocacy, Pallone has been actively involved in legislative efforts to protect natural resources and resist opportunities perceived as threats to these efforts.

On April 22, 2025, Pallone shared his sentiments on Earth Day with a post stating, "Happy Earth Day. For 55 years, this day’s been about taking action to protect our planet. But Trump is gutting protections, canceling climate grants, and siding with polluters over people. We must fight back." The post hints at Pallone's concerns over former President Trump's policy impact.

Later that day, Pallone addressed potential policy rollbacks, stating, "Trump is already trying to reverse President Biden’s historic environmental protections and open the Atlantic to Big Oil." He emphasized his proactive stance against such measures by reintroducing the COAST Anti-Drilling Act with Senator Cory Booker to permanently ban offshore drilling, targeting the preservation of New Jersey’s coastline.

In another post, Pallone criticized the National Institutes of Health (NIH) under Trump's influence, writing, "Trump’s NIH won’t fund research on how extreme heat, wildfires, and toxic smoke hurt our lungs, hearts, or even impact pregnant women. Apparently, if science says climate change is killing us, the solution is to defund the science." His concern highlights the potential consequences of defunding environmental research and the broader implications on public health and policy.

Pallone's commitment to environmental issues runs deep, underscored by his extensive political career, which began in the New Jersey Senate before his tenure in Congress. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts from Middlebury College and a Juris Doctor from Rutgers University-Camden.
