Rep. Frank Pallone, a serving member of the U.S. Congress from New Jersey’s 6th district, shared his perspectives on recent political and global events via social media. His posts touch upon decisions concerning federal programs and react to global news.
On April 20, 2025, Rep. Pallone expressed criticism regarding former President Donald Trump's intentions toward AmeriCorps. He stated, "Trump wants to kill AmeriCorps because it’s everything he hates: community service, empathy, sacrifice, and people helping others without getting rich. In his world, volunteering makes you a sucker."
Later the same day, Pallone commented on political efforts against the Consumer Financial Protection Agency, involving figures such as Trump and Elon Musk. On this matter, he stated, "A top target for Trump and Musk is the Consumer Financial Protection Agency. They want to close it because it prevents corporate interests from preying on the little guy. Democrats will continue the fight to keep the agency viable."
On April 21, 2025, he honored the memory of Pope Francis, reflecting on the Pope's leadership and impactful initiatives. Pallone posted, "I join millions around the world in mourning the loss of Pope Francis. I’m grateful for his years of leadership, his care for the poor, his focus on climate change, and his commitment to a more inclusive Church. May his legacy endure."
Frank Pallone has served in the U.S. Congress since 1988, following his tenure in the New Jersey Senate from 1984 to 1988. Born in Long Branch, New Jersey, in 1951, and a resident there today, he holds degrees from Middlebury College and Rutgers University-Camden.
