Rep. Frank Pallone, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing New Jersey’s 6th district since 1988, recently shared his views on several pressing issues through a series of tweets. Pallone, known for his long-standing political career and commitment to public service, addressed topics ranging from climate change to consumer protection and food safety.
On December 8, 2024, Rep. Pallone criticized the current administration's approach to climate change. He stated: "It’s bad enough that Republicans deny climate change, but now Trump’s Energy Secretary is touting its benefits. He should explain that to families who lose loved ones, homes or livelihoods to extreme weather. DOE should be leading the clean energy transition, not obstructing it."
In another tweet dated December 9, 2024, he expressed concerns about the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Pallone emphasized: "CFPB’s mission is to protect Americans from predatory financial practices, but Trump knows that the agency threatens the bottom line of his corporate friends. We must remain vigilant against Republican efforts to dismantle the CFPB & undermine its mission."
Later on December 9, 2024, Rep. Pallone highlighted a health issue related to food safety by calling for action against Red Dye 3 in consumables targeted at children: "Red Dye 3 is a known carcinogen banned in cosmetics for decades—yet it’s still in candy & snacks marketed to kids. If it isn't safe enough to put on your skin, it isn't safe enough to ingest. It’s well past time for @US_FDA to ban Red Dye 3 from our food."
